Summer Rolls On

Not much going on in the Sekerak household. Both of us have been working our fingers to the bone. Mike is down at White Sands Missile Range testing his current project and I spent last weekend at a local continuing education conference. I did have a few flashbacks to vet school and definitely found lectures more interesting with all my friends around!
Hildy wanted to share how mean her parents are . . . after trying to chew out stitches from a lump removal Hildy is forced to wear the dreaded cone. She has perfected her pout!

Week 30

We have achieved 30 weeks of pregnancy--this journey is 3/4 of the way over! Mom and Dad are getting very excited to meet our baby girl. In fact the nesting instinct seems to have kicked into overdrive. Like a slave driver I cracked the whip and Mike set up the crib, glider/ottoman, and stroller all weekend long. Our nursery like the pregnancy is 3/4 of the way complete . . . waiting on the dresser, decorations, and of course the BABY!
Also of note is the beautiful toy box made specially by Grandpa Falk and stained by Grandma Falk for their first grandchild--the wood is river wood maple direct from the wilds of Northern Michigan. The new toys inside are impatiently awaiting use.

Beer Belly

It was a social weekend for the Sekerak parents-to-be--we're trying to make the most of our social life while we can! Friday night we had a great dinner at Tiffany and Jordan's new house--as they have already traveled down Baby Road we saw their cute nursery, even cuter baby boy, and got some good parenting advice. Saturday night we attended the 50th birthday party of our friends Barb and Paul! Fifty, fabulous, and fun!

Mike kicked back Sunday afternoon with a cold beer and found another use for my ever growing belly. I present you Beer Belly!

Third Trimester!!!!!!!!

I pronounce this pregnancy 2/3 of the way done! Mama feels great and is very proud of her baby bump while the baby continues to enjoy water aerobics in the womb!

Summertime fun continued in Ohio for our baby shower thrown by the Sekerak side of the family. It started out as your typical baby shower--delicious food, fun games prepared by the aunts-to-be, and lots of cute baby presents! As the evening wore on the baby guests got rowdy! Fireworks were lit, shots were downed, and the classic potato gun made an appearance. The evening ended with drunk baby games at 2am policed by a sober mom-to-be!

All kidding aside we are very lucky to have such supportive family and friends. We thank you for all the well wishes, helpful advice, and happy memories.

Our return to Albuquerque heralded these last few busy weeks. Mike is working hard for his money getting the missile ready for launch and I continue to balance work with getting our family baby ready! The nursery is painted a baby blue, pediatrician has been found, and we've started an array of birthing and baby classes.

Visual evidence of our fun times below and see how the dogs are contemplating the belly!
